Front garden redesign

1/12

Redesign of a front garden for a flat-roofed row house.
Size: 60 m2

The narrow front garden had existing paving with a semi-circular island bed and waste bin greenery. The design brief was to leave the paving on a large scale and to integrate a car park. At the same time, the front garden was to be upgraded in terms of design.

After the conversion, the front garden will be structured by half-height (60-80cm high) Buxus-hedges. As a counterpoint to the stringent design, the hedges will be cut amorphously.
The entrance area is further accentuated by a stone setting. Three large blocks of greywacke attract the visitor’s attention. Each stone has unique patterns and colours on the broken edges.

In addition, the sawn and polished stone heads provide the viewer with projection surfaces for his own thoughts, images, …..

Vertically, the front garden is bordered by the leaf canopy of the tree crowns.
